Industrial serial Device Server from serial to fiber (FX) from PLANET
If the distance between serial (end) device and LAN is more than 100m, industrial serial device servers from PLANET with fiber optic connection (FX) are used. Care must be taken that the type of FX port (SFP module) is compatible with the laid fiber cable (multi-mode, single-mode) and the switch port (100FX, 1000FX, wavelength) at the other end of the link.
As PLANET's device servers are always equipped with a wide range of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, Telnet), serial interfaces (RS-232/422/485) and security features (SSL, SSH & HTTPS), they are ideal for a wide range of industrial applications. In addition, the fiber optic connection enables high bandwidth and transmission speeds of up to 100Mbps. The devices can be mounted either on DIN rail or directly on the wall.
