Industrial serial Device Server from PLANET
Serial device servers from PLANET, or also called serial to Ethernet converters, offer the possibility to quickly and easily retrofit existing controllers, sensors, etc. with an Ethernet interface. In short, they allow the integration of serial devices into a network. A serial interface is therefore a basic requirement. To ensure that the devices can be used in industrial environments, PLANET's device servers have been specially designed for use in demanding environments and come with a robust and resistant housing. They can be mounted either on DIN rail or directly on the wall.
You can choose between the ICS-100 series as desktop version or the ICS-2000 series as industrial version. Both device server series have an extended temperature range of up to -40°C ~ +70°C and a 24V power supply.
What is the function of a serial device server?
Serial device servers, often simply called device servers or serial to Ethernet converters, bring devices with a serial communication interface (RS-232/RS-422/RS-485) to the LAN, providing all the benefits of network access. Among them e.g. the operation from remote or from different stations or the connectivity to different software services of servers.
